List Inspector: Buttons
Back button
This is the navigation button that allows users to move back to look at their previous answers and change them. If this button is missed off, and if the slider is inactive, then the user can only move forwards in any lesson, survey or test.
Forward button
This is the navigation button that allows users to move forwards through a lesson, test or survey. Removing this would be unwise, unless you are sure you want the user to only move between screens using the slider.
Mark button
This enables a Mark button, which the user can press to mark the answers on any individual screen. As the user can then amend the answers this is a form of cheating—only suitable for informal tests and exercises.
Show Answer button
This option enables a Show Answer button which, if held down, displays the correct answer.
Cheat button
This is exactly the same as the Show Answer option above, except that it is named Cheat.
Help button
The Help provides information on answering questions, it does not provide help on how to get the correct answer.
Subtitles button
This provides a subtitles button that the user can click on the turn subtitles on and off.
Reset button
This provides the user with a Reset button. It will reset all of the answers on just one screen at once.
Finish button
This allows the user to finish the lesson, survey or test and, if appropriate, view marked answers. If this is not present then the user can still finish by pressing the Next button (if it is also present).
Slider
The slider can be active, so the user can click and drag to move between screens. It can be inactive, so that it just displays progress through the lesson, test or survey. Just the slider background can be shown, or nothing can be shown.
Navigation
Navigation determines the graphic look of the navigation/control buttons the user sees underneath the lesson, test or survey.
Surround Colour
Surround colour only affects browser-based lessons, surveys or tests. It determines the colour of the window around the lesson, survey or test, as well as the colour of the first blank screen.
Force Style
Force Style sets the visual appearance used for all of the screens in the test. It only affects those screens that are set to be the same as the Master Style, and it only affects the objects in the screen (i.e. Text Areas, Answer Fields, etc.) that are set to have the same style as the screen. Click here for more information on Styles.
