Dr Philip Marsden has been actively involved in providing leading edge human factors engineering services to industry since the mid 1980s. Initially, Dr Marsden’s career started at the University of Manchester where he worked on projects concerned with the management of human error in high risk work environments. Following this he joined Human Reliability Associates Ltd as a Senior Consultant where he worked for several years on a variety of applied human factors projects in the aerospace, aviation, rail, process control, and nuclear and conventional power generation industries. Dr Marsden has also had a distinguished academic career. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Salford and, for seven years was a Reader in Human Factors Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. During this time he was Director of the Interactive Technology Research. for the School of Computing and Engineering. Dr Marsden has more than 50 scientific publications and consultative reports to his credit. He is presently a Question Tools Associate Consultant with special responsibility for training accreditation projects.
